  5. As leader of the archaeological group for Tonbridge Historical Society I am very interested in receiving a report on the investigations on the Castle Motte – I believe this was carried out at the end of September 2016.


    • Hi Shiela. Yes that is right, we carried out the coring fieldwork at Tonbridge a couple of weeks ago – it is a wonderful mound! There should be no problem supplying the Tonbridge Historical Society with a copy of the report. We still have to complete the survey fieldwork, and the material from the cores will have to be assessed and samples sent off for dating. The report should therefore be completed around the middle of next year.
